![]() ![]() While the series stayed true to the game, it took several detours with the story and the characters. The game was later adapted into a 26 episode anime titled Tales of Zestiria the X. He recruits two squires named Rose and Alisha and four elemental Seraphim beings Mikleo (water), Lailah (fire), Edna (earth), Dezel, and later Zaveid (both wind) to purge the world of evil malevolence and defeat the Lord of Calamity before it plunges the world in darkness. It tells the story of Sorey who becomes the Shepherd, the mystical guardian of Glenwood. Tales of Zestiria wowed gamers when it was released in 2015 on Playstation by Bandai Namco Studios. I'm going to agree with this! And on that note, have any of you actually beaten the game yet? >.> So if you have then you should know.Bandai Namco Studios/Tales of Zestiria Wikia I'm certain if Mikleo was a female character, people would be shipping those too together even more, even if they claim otherwise. well, even more platonic, if that makes sense.Īnd frankly, I'm pretty sure there's some sort of double standards going here with some of you. It's only platonic because that's how the writer portrays it, but the other relationships in the game feel. Mikleo even feels like he is constantly getting jealous of the girls. If the author would have suddenly decided to introduce romance to the end, everything else would have felt too out of blue. Originally posted by Miro Laaksonen:Honestly, no, not canon, but with Sorey's apparent disinterest towards girls and his and Mikleo's strong bond together, if I had to choose a pairing, they would make most sense. I don't think the sauna thing works because that could easily simply be teasing and the kind of thing someone like Sorey would do in order to tease someone like Zaveid. I'd love to see any evidence one way or the other. Have any evidence to back that up? I see a whole lot of declarations from both stances on this issue but the only ones I'm inclined to believe thus far are the ones saying it's not defined at all. however going so far as to declare them heterosexual is the pendulum swinging the other direction. I have yet to see evidence the two are more than very close friends. I have seen tons of hearsay on the issue, the thing about Mikleo being Sorey's "one and only" and that no male/female romance would work for him, and also that a typical romance isn't part of the game because it wasn't necessary. From everything I've been reading there is no one defined answer. Both extremes of the issue are wrong in my opinion. It doesn't matter what gender they are if the relationship is built in a platonic and friendly path rather than a romantic one. Sorey's childhood friend could have been Alicia or Rose or anybody and if he still had the exact same relationship that he had with Mikleo, with a female childhood friend, then we would still be saying the exact same thing - it's purely platonic. You also have a strange notion of trolling.Īlso gender doesn't matter. Not sure why you and Gyson seem to think that proof of close friendship excludes the potential for romantic or sexual attraction. That's why you don't see many (if any) people claiming that the Sorey x Alisha shippers or the Sorey x Rose shippers are delusional nutters projecting their sexualities onto perfectly chaste characters or that people who ship those pairings have no concept of how friendships or other relationships work.Īlso, not sure how your particular relationships work, but I prefer to be friends with my lovers. Gay pairings have to meet a much higher burden of proof to be considered legitimate than do straight pairings. That's usually how this double standard plays out. ![]() You have no reason to believe that they are straight and ample reason to believe that they are at least bi, but you dismiss that out of hand because, consciously or subconsciously, you have an unusually high burden of proof for gay pairings. It doesn't matter if women got "between" them or not, because they are both straight.Īlso gender doesn't matter. It's completely unrelated to Sorey and Mikleo's situation. You're the one that brought women into the discussion. The discussion is about Sorey and Mikleo, which is a purely platonic friendship. Neither me nor Gyson mentioned anything about women. Man and woman share a few scenes together? OMG lovers forever! Two men share a deep emotional bond that spans the entire game? Couldn't possibly be romantic! That's madness!ĭo you folks not realize how silly this double standard is? ![]()
